and… as the mother of a toddler, may I just append my own abject fear of my daughter’s tendency to pretend she is Chopin or decide to be a jester at JUST the wrong moment. Aaargh. Yes, I think she’s the most fabulous being on earth, but if only that fabulousness could be a little quieter and neater.

If I remember correctly, even cherubs were jesters that loved to create the occasional havoc. Those little “angels” are merely imps in training and just itching to ply their talents in order to make those poor retail persons insane. Maybe a stroller parking area outside your store is in order. Funny post DIana. Love them and your unique observations of life. Keep them comming. Allan

And may I add the following for self-absorbed parents everywhere:

While I appreciate that, to you, your child is the most wonderful, intelligent, charming, fabulous, unique being that ever walked the face of the earth, you will excuse me if I don’t share your sentiment. Let’s face it, they can’t all be geniuses. Banging away on a toy piano is adorable but it doesn’t make her Chopin. Smearing peanut butter on the wall could be considered artistic (or gross) but I’m not sure he’s the next Van Gogh. I’m just sayin’.
